Finally Facebook launches its video calling facility with its collaboration with skype.
Its Installation is very simple.
1.First go for www.facebook.com/videocalling (make sure the browser you are using is an updated one otherwise it will not support)
2. Click on “Get Started”
3. After that you will see a small camera icon on ur small chat window (if not then refresh the window) . The person who is Online just click on cam icon, well this is not it.
4. Then after few moments automatically a download starts for “FacebookVideoCallSetup_v1.2.199.0.exe ” which is around 500 KB of size.
5. Finally when you install it, its autmatically starts downloading and installation of the actual “Facebook Video Chat Plug-In” directly. You don’t have to do anything.
Once the installation finishes u r ready to go.. i used it any its pretty impressive in Slow Connections also. I connected my mobile to lappy (which is hell slow) but i have to tell that picture with sound quality was really amazing which is not possible in Gmail videochat plugin.

for some reason i have video but no sound? Sound works fine on skype but not on facebook? Is there a setting somewhere?
hi,
For me it worked fine straight away. When the video call window opens then u must have came across smaller window (Adobe Flash Player Settings) inside it asks for all the setting u want to use for the chat. U have an option to select your webcam and other option is what kind of sound device u want to choose.. like microphone or other sound devices. If u r using a headset with microphone then select likewise.
Other option includes a privacy option where u have to ‘allow’ facebook to use your camera and microphone. Select the appropriate options and also select the ‘remember” option so that next time u don’t have to do it again.
If this does’nt work further u can check ur Playback Devices in the sound option. Their in the recording tab just check if Microphone is selected as default device or not (just in case).
